Question

Where can I set color management settings in PitStop Server and what is the priority of these settings?

Solution

1. The PitStop Server Application Preferences

Color Management settings can be set in the Color Management Category of the PitStop Server application Preferences. This is the most common used place to use set Color Management. These settings apply to everything that's processed by PitStop Server. These settings don't overrule any other color management setting.

2. The PitStop Server Hot Folder Editor

Color Management settings can be adjusted in the Color Management Category of the Hot Folder Editor. These settings only apply to the jobs processed by this Hot Folder. These settings overrule the PitStop Server Application Color Management settings. These settings are standard turned off to ensure that the Application Color Management Settings are used.

3. The Preflight Profile Editor

Color Management can also be adjusted in the Processing Category of the Preflight Profile editor. These settings only apply to the changes made by this Preflight Profile. These settings overrule the Hot Folder settings and the PitStop Server Application Preferences. This setting is also standard turned off.

4. The Action List editor

The last place where Color Management can be set is the Action List editor. These settings only apply to the changes made by this Action List. These settings overrule the Hot Folder settings and the PitStop Server Application Preferences. If the Action List is implemented in a Preflight Profile, then the settings only apply to the changes made by the Action List, not the complete preflight profile. This setting is also standard turned off.
