When running flows in Switch using Acrobat 9, I get the error “Can’t kill Acrobat process” error.  How can I correct this?


This error can be caused by a file named "Organizer90" becoming too large and causing Acrobat to crash. Removing this file will allow Acrobat to rebuild it; limiting the amount of data stored in the file will keep it from getting too large again.

Limit the amount of data stored in this file by going to the menu "Edit: Preferences: General: Documents" and changing the setting for "Remember files in Organizer history for" to 7 days or 14 days (the default is 12 months).

Remove the file by performing the following:

For Mac

  • Quit Acrobat.
  • Go to "Library: Application Support: Adobe: Acrobat"
  • Open either the "9.0_ppc" folder or the "9,0_x86" folder, depending on your type of Mac
  • Move "Organizer90" to the trash
  • Restart the computer.

For PC

  • Close Acrobat.
  • Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\*user*\Application Data\Adobe\Acrobat|9.0
  • Windows Vista / Windows 7: C:\Users\*user*\AppData\LocalLow\Acrobat\9.0
  • Delete Organizer90.
  • Restart the computer.
