Solution Details
Symptoms PitStop Server sometimes fails to process files on network shares. Processing the same files locally works ok.
Solution On some specific networks there can be issues when PitStop Server has to read and write files from network locations. There are two hidden settings which might avoid issues with some specific networks. Please follow the next steps if you wish to enable these hidden settings:
Shut down PitStop Server (including the Watchdog).
Create a backup of the "PitStop Server" folder under:
Windows: C:\ProgramData\Enfocus Prefs Folder
Mac: Macintosh HD/Library/Preferences/Enfocus Prefs Folder/Enfocus Prefs Folder
In the HotFolders subdirectory (this in the original PitStop Server folder mentioned above), you will find several enfhf files. Each one of them contains the settings of one hotfolder which is installed in PitStop Server. Open each of these in a text editor (Notepad or TextEdit will work).
In the "General" section, find the line that reads "PrefID_PreferOSCalls" "true",change this to "PrefID_PreferOSCalls" "false".
In the same section you can find a line that reads "PrefID_UseLocalCopyIfNetworked" "false",change this to "PrefID_UseLocalCopyIfNetworked" "true"
