Solution TitleMy Device Link profile to reduce TAC is not working. Why is this?
Solution Number00000794
Solution Details
Symptoms
I am running a standard PitStop Device Link profile to reduce TAC but it is not working on all elements in the file.  PitStop still says that the Ink Density is over the threshold specified in the Device Link profile.

Cause
The Device Link actions works on individual objects. In many cases this will give expected results but if transparency or overprint come into play, then overlapping objects can all contribute to the ink coverage on the same spot on the page and it will give the result that Ink Density is over the TAC amount specified in the Device Link profile.

Solution
Flatten the file using either Acrobat Transparency flattening or PitStop Server flattening with "resolve overprint" enabled, then use the Device Link Action List.
